Power Rangers Actor Arrested for Murder

36-year-old Ricardo Medina Jr, also known as Rick Medina, is known for portraying Cole Evans/Red Lion Wild Force Ranger in the 2002 TV series “Power Rangers Wild Force”, and Deker in the 2012 “Power Rangers Samurai.” It appears that he may have taken his character roles a bit too seriously - he was arrested on Saturday for killing his roommate with a sword.

The news release provided by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said that Medina and his roommate, 36-year-old Joshua Sutter, were arguing on Saturday while Medina’s girlfriend was visiting. Medina attempted to walk away from Sutter by going to his bedroom with his girlfriend, but Sutter followed. As Sutter forced his way into Medina’s bedroom, Medina grabbed a sword and stabbed Sutter in his stomach.

Medina, who has also played minor roles in “ER” and “CSI: Miami”, called 911 but Sutter did not make it. Medina was arrested and charged with murder. He is being held on a $1 million bail, and will appear in the Antelope Valley Courthouse on Tuesday.
