Java Leads to Justice for Armed Robbery Suspect

38-year-old Michael Cassano of Oakland Garden, NY entered a Hudson City Savings Bank on Monday with a BB gun and a fedora hat. He approached a teller, and demanded money. He escaped with $4,000 in cash.

Perhaps Cassano would have made a clean get-away if he had not stopped for coffee at a Dunkin Donuts only a block away from the crime scene, wearing the flashy fedora that made him an easy target to spot.

An officer noticed a man matching the description of the robber at the coffee shop. After officers approached the man and talked to him, they discovered Cassano with the stolen cash and the BB gun. He has been charged with two weapons offenses and robbery.
